Whitby man caught in drug trafficking investigation in Oshawa

A Whitby man is in custody after a drug trafficking investigation in downtown Oshawa.

On Friday, August 5 members of the Central East Community Response Unit Team made the arrest and then executed a search warrant at a Hickory Street residence in Whitby.

The arrest and the warrant combined resulted in the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and Canadian currency.

Shane Dias, 38, is facing numerous drug related offences, including two counts of trafficking in fentanyl, two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine.

He was held for a bail hearing.
