What’s open and closed Victoria Day Monday in Oakville, Burlington, and Milton

This year, Victoria Day in Burlington, Oakville and Milton on Monday, May 24, 2021.

Many things that are typically open will be closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents are asked to refrain from inviting friends and family over for Victoria Day celebrations, as social gatherings are not permitted due to the provincial Stay-at-Home order.

Restaurants will still not be permitted to offer dine-in service, but some might still be open for takeout and delivery.

So without further ado, here’s what will be open and closed this long weekend:

Open:

  • Local parks and certain outdoor recreational amenities
  • Most Shoppers Drug Marts, but call ahead to be sure
  • Some restaurants will be open for takeout and delivery only, so be sure to call before heading out
  • Some smaller grocery stores, such as Rabba grocery stores
  • Some Whole Foods Market locations

Closed:

  • Toronto Premium Outlets
  • Square One Shopping Centre
  • Bramalea City Centre
  • Vaughan Mills
  • Eaton Centre
  • Pacific Mall
  • Halton court services
  • Community centres
  • Public Library branches
  • City/Town Hall and administrative services
  • Burlington Animal Shelter and Control
  • Mapleview Centre
  • Oakville Place
  • Burlington Centre
  • LCBO
  • Beer Store
  • Banks
  • Government offices
  • No mail delivery
  • Garbage and recycling will be collected one day later

Transit

  • Oakville Transit will operate on a holiday schedule
  • Burlington Transit will run on a holiday schedule
  • Milton Transit will not be operating (Milton access+, specialized service, will also be unavailable)
  • GO Transit will run on a Saturday schedule
