What’s open and closed Victoria Day May 23 in Oakville, Burlington, and Milton

This year, Victoria Day falls on Monday, May 23, 2022.

Here’s what will be open and closed in Burlington, Oakville and Milton this long weekend:


Open:

  • Local parks and certain outdoor recreational amenities
  • Most Shoppers Drug Marts, but call ahead to be sure
  • Some restaurants will be open for dining, takeout and delivery, but be sure to call ahead
  • Some smaller grocery stores, such as Rabba grocery stores
  • Some Whole Foods Market locations
  • Some Beer Stores in Burlington
  • Some Starbucks (hours may vary at different locations)
  • Toronto Premium Outlets (9:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
  • Other major malls that are open:
    – Square One (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
    – Bramalea City Centre (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
    – Vaughan Mills (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
    – Eaton Centre (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)

Closed:

  • Banks
  • City Hall/Town Hall
  • Most Halton Region offices and services, although all 24-hour/essential services remain open
  • All community centres, seniors’ centres, pools, arenas and the Oakville Museum
  • Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts
  • All library branches (closed Sunday, May 22 and Monday, May 23)
  • The parking garage at 300 Church St.

Transit:

  • Oakville Transit will be offering its holiday service schedule on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Burlington Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule
  • Milton Transit will not operate on Victoria Day
  • GO Transit will run on a Sunday schedule

Garbage:

No garbage pick up Monday, May 23 (all waste collection will be one day later than usual)
