This year, Thanksgiving Monday falls on October 11, 2021.

While some places that are typically open will be closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still ways you can enjoy the holiday this year in Halton.

So, without further ado, here’s what’s open and closed this Thanksgiving Monday in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills.

  • Toronto Premium Outlets from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Some restaurants will be open but call ahead to make sure
  • Shoppers Drug Marts
  • Other major malls that are open:
    – Square One (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
    – Bramalea City Centre (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
    – Vaughan Mills (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
    – Eaton Centre (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
    – Pacific Mall (11 a.m. – 8 p.m.)


  • Major grocery stores
  • Banks
  • Libraries
  • Community centres
  • All levels of government offices
  • City Hall
  • LCBO (some LCBO Convenience Outlets may be open, but call ahead to be sure)
  • No mail delivery
  • Garbage and recycling (blue box, green bin and yard waste) will be collected one day later


  • Oakville Transit will operate on a holiday schedule
  • Burlington Transit will operate on a holiday schedule
  • Milton Transit will not be operating
  • GO Transit will run on a Sunday schedule
