What’s open and closed on Civic Holiday Monday in Brampton August 7

The Civic Holiday in Brampton 2023 falls on Monday, Aug. 7 this year and some businesses might be closed for the long weekend.
So before you head out on the town take a look at what’s open and closed for the Civic Holiday Monday this year:
Open:
- Brampton Shopper’s World is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Bramalea City Centre is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Most grocery stores (including Rabba grocery stores) are open, but call ahead to be sure
- Most bars and restaurants that are typically open on Mondays are open but call ahead to be sure
- Select Beer Store locations will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including:
- 198 Queen St. E.
- 180 Sandalwood Pkwy.
- 80 Peel Centre Dr.
- 10585 Bramalea Rd.
- All LCBO locations
- Most Wine Rack locations, but call ahead to be sure
- Most Shoppers Drug Marts and pharmacies
- Movie theatres
- Brampton Library branches
Other major malls that are open:
- Square One Shopping Centre – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Erin Mills Town Centre -10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Dixie Value Mall – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Toronto Premium Outlets – 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Closed:
- Government offices
- City Hall
- Banks
- Community Centres (some are open, call ahead to book a spot)
- Canada Post (no mail pick up or delivery)
- Community Recycling Centres
- Garbage and recycling will be collected one day later
- Region of Peel non-emergency services, including
- Access Peel Counters, Dental Services Contact Centre
- COVID-19 vaccine clinics
- Dental Services Contact Centre
- Early Years and Child Care Services
- Family Health Call Centre

Transit:
- Bramtpon Transit and Zum will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule
- GO Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule
- TransHelp trips for Aug. 7 and Aug. 8 need to be booked by Sunday, Aug. 8 by 7 p.m.
