What’s open and closed new year’s day and January 2 in Hamilton

New Year’s Day falls this year on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023.
This will be the first time COVID-19 health and safety measures won’t limit patrons on the first day of the year in a few years.
Because New Year’s Day falls on a weekend, some businesses and offices will treat Monday, Jan. 2, as a statutory holiday. To be safe, call ahead to ensure that your destination is open.

- Skating rinks: Bernie Morelli Recreation Centre – Serafini Family Ice Pad, Dundas Driving Park, Freelton Community Park, Waterdown Memorial Park
- Some drug stores, such as Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall
