With the Easter long weekend approaching, many businesses and public offices will be closed.
These closures will begin on April 3, Good Friday, but the next day, Saturday, it will be business as usual.
However, on Sunday, April 5, it will be Easter and again, you can expect many closures.
Most businesses will be open on Monday, April 6, but many government offices will remain closed.
What’s open and closed: Good Friday and Easter Sunday
Open:
- Local parks and specific outdoor recreational amenities
- Most Shoppers Drug Marts, but call ahead to be sure
- Most restaurants will be open for dining, takeout and delivery, but make sure to call ahead
- Some smaller grocery stores, such as Rabba grocery stores
- Some Starbucks (hours may vary at different locations)
- Some Tim Hortons locations (hours may vary, so call ahead to be sure)
- Conservation Halton Parks: Crawford Lake, Hilton Falls, Kelso, Mount Nemo, Mountsberg, Rattlesnake Point
- Terra Cotta Conservation Area in Halton Hills
- Toronto Premium Outlets (Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
- Eaton Centre in Toronto (Friday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday, noon – 5 p.m.)
Closed:
- Mapleview Centre
- Burlington Centre
- Oakville Place
- Milton Mall
- Costco
- Most major grocery stores
- LCBOs
- Beer Stores
- Community centres/arenas/pools
- Oakville Museum
- Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton
- Municipal buildings, including Town halls in Milton, Burlington, Oakville and Halton Hills, as well as Halton Region offices
- Banks
- Libraries
- Halton Court Services
- All schools
- Canada Post (no mail pickup or delivery)
- Halton Waste Management Site
- There will be no waste collection. Follow this link to find out when your collection will take place.

- Vaughan Mills
- Yorkdale
Transit:
- Oakville Transit will operate on a holiday schedule, operating from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Burlington Transit will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule, operating from 6:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m.
- Milton Transit will not be running
- GO Transit will run on a Saturday schedule with hours varying depending on the route. Follow this link for details.

- The Beer Store
- Grocery stores
- Restaurants
- Transit services will run as usual, but check ahead of time
- No change to the waste collection schedule for Monday, April 6
