What's Open and Closed Boxing Day December 26 in Mississauga

 

It is called “Boxing Day” because - starting in medieval Britain - servants had a day off and would receive a gift box on this day. It is a provincial stat holiday in Ontario only, so let’s rejoice Mississauga.

  • Square One Shopping Centre - 8am to 8pm
  • Erin Mills Town Centre - 8am to 8pm
  • Heartland Power Centre (some stores as early as 7 am, but call ahead to be sure)
  • Dixie Value Mall - 8am to 7pm
  • All major grocery stores 
  • Celebration Square Ice Rink
  • Shoppers Drug Marts
  • Mississauga Chinese Centre
  • Movie theatres

  • Other major malls that are open:
    - Toronto Premium Outlets (6am-11pm)
    - Bramalea City Centre (8am-8pm)
    - Sherway Gardens (8am-8pm)
    - Vaughan Mills (7am-9pm) 
    - Yorkdale Shopping Centre (8am-11pm)
    - Eaton Centre (7am-9:30pm) 
    - Pacific Mall 

Closed:

  • LCBO
  • Most Beer Store locations will be closed, but these four will remain open 
  • Wine Rack
  • Government offices
  • Banks
  • Libraries
  • Most Community Centres (call ahead to be sure)
  • Federal Government
  • City Hall
  • No mail delivery
  • Garbage and recycling will be collected one day later

 Transit

  • Mississauga Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule
  • GO Transit will run on a Saturday schedule
