What was 15 cm (six inches) of snow at approximately 3 am this morning (January 17) has piled up to 50 cm (20 inches) eight hours later in some places through the region.

A vaccination clinic set for the Niagara Falls Convention Centre has been cancelled while most Town and City Halls are staff-less (although services were limited prior to the storm due to pandemic restrictions).

Both the District School Board of Niagara and the Niagara Catholic District School Board, both due to open classrooms today, posted they were closed today due to the snow.
