Oakville’s Peter Gilgan Family YMCA released an update on what the Ontario government’s recent return to Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen means for them.

The local fitness facility, located at 410 Rebecca St., has closed all in-person programming for at least 21 days and they will not be open for in-person visits until the provincial restrictions are removed.

All monthly billing will be suspended effective Jan. 4, 2022. Monthly payments will be paused for in-person programming while they are closed.

For any pre-paid monthly charges, the YMCA will adjust your account to compensate you for any time lost.

The plan for pre-paid registered sessions, such as swimming lessons, is to delay the start of the next session to begin one week after the provincial restrictions are removed.

Here’s what else these provincial restrictions mean for you:

Child Care Programming

  • The Infant, Toddler and Pre-School Licensed Child Care Operations are not affected by today’s announcement and will continue operating without interruption.
  • The Licensed Kindergarten, Before and After School Aged Care Programs are paused and will resume when schools return to in-person learning.
  • Payments for our Kindergarten, Before and After School Aged Care Programs will be paused until there is confirmation about the timing for the reopening of schools. They will provide updated information about these dates as soon as they know more.
