Are drivers finally getting the “don’t-drink-and-drive” message?

Niagara Police set up spot checks in both Thorold and Welland on October 8 and after 600 cars were pulled over, just one person was charged with impaired.

In total, nine drivers were asked for breathalyzers with the one impaired charge and another blowing a warning (between 0.05 and 0.08 BAC), meaning their licence was yanked for three days.

Police say as well of those two drivers “several tickets were also issued to drivers for various traffic related offences.”
