Any parent will admit it’s tough to get their children to pipe down at times. However, one Welland man just managed to render his daughter speechless.

Granted, Marc Papineau, 48, of Welland had to win the $100,000 top prize with INSTANT CROSSWORD TRIPLER to do so.

The construction worker says he is an occasional lottery player. “I decided to buy a couple of tickets on my way home. I prefer INSTANT tickets – I play CROSSWORD for entertainment,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

“I was playing my ticket and noticed I missed the letter “V”, and with that letter I had won the top prize,” Papineau explained.

Then came the magical moment. “I checked the ticket on my phone right away and then I told my daughter about the win. She was speechless. This win comes at the perfect time.”

Papineau plans to put his win in the bank for now. “I’ll take some time to consider how to use it. Maybe a new vehicle. I’ll be sure to do something for myself. It’s a happy and exciting time,” he concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Avondale on Niagara Street in Welland.
