Welland man picks football longshots in lottery, collects a $79K touchdown

Knowing his pigskin punditry paid off huge for Michael Jurich of Welland who scored himself a $79,511.60 win with POOL, the football lottery.

Jurich, 36, said he is a regular player of POOLS and took a chance by going for the big prize.

“I went for the longshot! I was so excited to check my winnings the next morning!” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.  “It was an overwhelming and exciting feeling.”

Michael said he called his dad and friends to share his exciting news. “Their minds were blown – they couldn’t believe it!”

He plans to donate to charity, purchase a sports jersey and save the rest.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on East Main Street in Welland.
