A Welland couple will be jetting off to the Caribbean after winning more than $90,000 on the lottery

Sean and Gladys Sparkes won $93,220.70 collecting the second prize in the October 22 LOTTO MAX draw.

Sean says he has been playing the lottery for as long as he can remember.

“I went to the store to check the ticket and thought something was wrong with the ticket checker because so many numbers came up,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up the winnings. “I was shocked – I couldn’t believe it.”

“He woke me up and made me get out of bed to show me the ticket,” said Gladys. “I was pretty exited too!”

The married couple plan to take a trip to the Caribbean to celebrate their birthdays. “We are getting ready for retirement as well,” added Gladys.

“It just feels incredible,” Sean concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased on Marcel’s Variety on Lincoln Street in Welland.
