Well-liked Oakville women’s fashion store closes doors after 40 years

A popular Oakville women’s clothing store is closing at the end of this month.
After 40 years in Oakville, Peggy’s Distinctive Ladies Fashion store, located inside the South Oakville Centre at 1515 Rebecca St., will be closing shop.
Sisters Jan Price and Joey Bennett shared the sad news to their customers on Facebook.
“Big thank you to our Oakville customers for your generous support during the past 40 years,” the sisters said in a recent post.
Local customers will still be able to find the same fashion items by taking a little bit of a drive to the sisters’ Peggy’s Distinctive Ladies Fashion store in Milton.
The Milton store, located downtown, celebrated its 50th anniversary back in 2018.

“We look forward to seeing you again soon in Milton,” the sisters told their customers on their Facebook post.
Still, customers will miss the Oakville store.
“Wow, never expected that news,” Maureen Lawson said on the store’s Facebook page. “Best wishes to the staff! Peggy’s was one of my favourite stores.”
Some customers still plan on making the drive.
“Will definitely come to Milton,” said Barbara Wood on her Facebook reply to the sisters’ post.
