Well-known chocolate shop re-opens in Square One in Mississauga

Shoppers who have been missing a popular chocolate shop that called Square One home for 16 years might be excited to hear that the store has reopened in the shopping centre. 

Rocky Mountain Chocolate, which closed its previous Square One location in May, recently announced that it has moved to another spot and opened its doors to customers. 

“Obviously, we have been a staple in Mississauga for 16 years, so we certainly didn’t want to disappoint our loyal customers and close down in Mississauga,” a Rocky Mountain spokesperson said in an email to insauga.com.

The spokesperson said that TD Bank took over the brand’s previous location at a time when the franchisee was looking to retire. While the closure no doubt disappointed dessert enthusiasts, the brand has since been offered a spot in the former Laura Second space near entrance #9. 

It was an opportunity the store “couldn’t pass up.” 

The spokesperson says the store will be the company’s third corporately-run location in Ontario.

While the shop opened last week, Rocky Mountain is still working to get its full line-up of products on the shelves. 

According to a spokesperson, the store hopes to start serving up its gourmet ice cream bars in August. 

The Square One location is currently the brand’s only store in Mississauga.
