WEEKEND WEATHER: Rainy days in the forecast for Toronto and southern Ontario

After some scorching hot days at the beginning of the month, cooler temperatures have moved into the area, and this weekend, residents can expect warmer days with a chance of showers. 

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, Toronto and southern Ontario residents and visitors can expect a warm and sunny Friday, and a warm but potentially wet Saturday and Sunday. 

On Friday, July 24, sunny weather with a high of 26 C is expected in Toronto, Oakville, Burlington and Hamilton. Highs of 27 C are expected for Mississauga, Brampton and Oshawa, while temperatures could reach 28 C in Niagara Falls. 

Temperatures could fall to about 16 degrees at night in some towns and cities. 

On Saturday, July 25, temperatures in Toronto could hit 27 C, but there’s a 30 per cent chance of showers. In Mississauga and Brampton, temperatures of 26 C are expected, with a 30 per cent chance of rain also in the ECCC forecast.

Temperatures of 26 C with some rain are also anticipated in Oakville, Burlington and Oshawa. In Hamilton, temperatures could hit 25 C (also with a chance of showers), and in Niagara Falls, a high of 23 C is expected, with some rain possible. 

The possibility of rain lingers on Sunday, July 26, when temperatures reach 26 C in Toronto, Hamilton and Oshawa. On that day, there’s a 40 per cent chance of showers. 

In Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville and Niagara Falls, temperatures of 25 C are expected, with the possibility of some rain. 

According to ECCC, rainy but warm conditions could persist into next week.
