The scorching hot weather is expected to continue, along with a chance of thunderstorms, this first weekend of June in southern Ontario.
Above-normal temperatures that have dominated this week are forecast to continue into the weekend.
A high of around 31 C, feeling like 33 C with the humidex, is forecast for Friday in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. It could be slightly cooler in Durham and Niagara regions.
A low of 16 C is forecast for the evening.
Saturday is expected to be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers during the day, dropping to a 30 per cent chance in the evening, according to Environment Canada. A high of 26 C and a low of 16 C is forecast. It could feel like 31 C, according to The Weather Network.
The Weather Network says there is a risk of scattered thunderstorms throughout the day on Saturday.
Sunny skies return on Sunday, along with a high of 27 C and a low of 15 C. With the humidex, it could feel like 30 C, according to The Weather Network.
Normal temperatures for this time of year are highs of 23 C and lows of 11 C, according to Environment Canada.
The hot weather is forecast to continue into next week.
