A heavy rain warning remains in effect as rainfall is expected to continue today, with total rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm.

“However, rain will be more continuous and heavy at times later this morning into Sunday morning,” Environment Canada reports. “For areas further away from Lake Ontario, rain may change to freezing rain by this evening and may last for several hours.”
Freezing rain is possible tonight, and strong southwest winds are also expected Sunday morning, especially along the Lake Ontario shoreline where winds may gust up to 80 km/h.
Residents should watch out for flooding in low-lying areas and exercise caution while driving, as visibility will be significantly reduced.
