Weather warning in effect for Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Niagara

A weather advisory in effect in Toronto and other cities in southern Ontario

Get ready to layer up, because the weather is about to get chilly!

A frost advisory has been issued for the Mississauga, Brampton, Halton, and Niagara regions with temperatures anticipated to dip close to freezing under clear skies tonight (Oct. 22).

According to Environment Canada a frost advisory is issued when temperatures are expected to drop near or below freezing—endangering plants and crops during the growing season.

Residents in these frost-prone areas are advised to cover up plants and take preventative measures to protect plants and trees sensitive to the cooler conditions.

The  patchy frost is expected to continue into Monday morning.
