Residents across Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto and surrounding regions can expect a much more comfortable summer day Saturday as sunshine returns and temperatures remain near seasonal levels.

After a stretch of hot and humid weather, Saturday, July 11, is shaping up to be a pleasant summer day across much of southern Ontario, with Environment Canada forecasting sunny skies and daytime highs of about 28 C.

While it will still feel like summer, the humidity will not be as intense as it has been recently. The humidex is expected to make temperatures feel closer to 31 C during the afternoon, with the UV index reaching the very high category, so residents spending time outdoors are advised to use sunscreen and stay hydrated.

The morning will get off to a bright start across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, with mostly sunny skies expected in Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, Halton Region, Durham Region and Niagara Region.

Through the afternoon, sunshine will dominate the forecast, making it a favourable day for outdoor activities, festivals and summer events. There is currently no significant chance of rain expected Saturday, providing a welcome break after recent unsettled weather that brought the risk of showers and thunderstorms to parts of the region.

As evening arrives, skies will remain clear and temperatures will begin to drop. Overnight lows will fall to around 14 C in areas such as Mississauga and Halton, while Toronto is expected to remain slightly warmer with a low near 19 C.

Looking ahead to Sunday, July 12, the sunshine is expected to continue, with another warm day in store. Temperatures will climb slightly, reaching about 29 C, with clear skies expected and no major rain threat in the forecast.

The warmer weather is expected to build again early next week, with temperatures forecast to rise into the low 30s by Monday and Tuesday in parts of southern Ontario.
