A planned pop-up at the George Ashe Library Branch in Pickering Thursday by Metrolinx staff to update residents on the GO Train expansion project into Bowmanville will be re-scheduled after “unforeseen weather conditions and safety concerns” related to the snowstorm that ravaged southern Ontario Wednesday night forced its cancellation.

“We are sorry to have missed you and our apologies on any inconveniences this has caused,” Metrolinx said in a statement, adding that they were “actively working to reschedule” the pop-up event as well as other events in the near future.

Preliminary work has begun on the expansion of GO Train services into Bowmanville, which will include two new stations in Oshawa (Thorntons Corner and at the former Knob Hill Farms site near Ritson Road) and stations in Courtice and Bowmanville.
