Drivers should adjust travel plans accordingly as a significant amount of snowfall is expected to hit areas of Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and Milton.

Environment Canada put out warnings around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 28) saying there will be significant accumulations of snow nearing 10 cm, beginning late evening and carrying on until Sunday afternoon.

Most of Southern Ontario and its surrounding regions will be affected.

The agency has advised motorists and pedestrians to practice extreme caution as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

More weather updates may be issued as the snowfall approaches.
