Weather advisory in effect for southern Ontario causing dangerous driving conditions

Fog Mississauga today

A weather advisory was issued for fog in southern Ontario.

Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring over some areas this morning (Feb. 8), according to the alert from Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Patchy, dense fog is expected to lift this morning. Black ice may form in areas where temperatures are below freezing due to freezing fog. Drivers should exercise caution.

Fog advisory in effect for:

  • Mississauga
  • Brampton
  • Hamilton
  • Burlington
  • Oakville
  • Caledon

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
