Weapons, drug charges for Ajax, Ontario man

An Ajax man is facing weapon and drug charges after a firearms investigation in Pickering.

The Durham Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit wrapped up a firearm investigation into the suspect in early July, and with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Pickering.

Tuan Ubayd Badurdeen, 19, was located inside the home and taken into custody. A search of the residence located a Glock auto sear switch, drugs and drug paraphernalia.

At the time of his arrest Badurdeen was on weapons prohibition conditions.

Badurdeen has been charged with three gun possession counts, fail to comply and possession of a Schedule 1 substance.

He was held for a bail hearing.
