Weapons charges after road rage incident in north Oshawa

A Clarington man is facing weapons charges after a gun was pointed at another motorist during a road rage incident in Oshawa Wednesday.

The two drivers were involved in a verbal road rage altercation at Ritson Road and Taunton Road just after 5 p.m. when the suspect pointed a firearm toward the other driver and made threats, police said. Officers arrived on scene and quickly located and arrested the suspect. The firearm was later confirmed to be an imitation pistol.

The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.

Bhaviya Jiteshkumar Patel, 26, is charged with pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.

He was released on an Undertaking.
