Niagara Police were called to the scene early yesterday (March 27) morning when a man brought out a firearm during an argument at a Port Colborne restaurant.

While the police described the altercation as a “minor argument,” there was a brief fight before the suspect took off from the scene.

The police recovered the weapon – a pellet handgun shown above – on the scene instantly, it was only a matter of time before they caught the suspect.

Patrick C. Sassano, 23, of Fort Erie has been charged with possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.

He was held in custody for a video bail hearing at the courthouse in St. Catharines today (March 28).

Anyone with information is requested to contact the Welland Detective Office by calling 905-688-4111, extension 1023300.
