After months of snowfall and frigid weather, the temperatures this week will hit double digits in Mississauga, Brampton and much of southern Ontario.

Just last week a blast of Arctic air sent wind chill values to reach -30 C.

Environment Canada issued an extreme cold warning and reminded residents to layer up when heading outside, as there was the potential to suffer frostbite.

Temperatures for the upcoming week are expected to be mild and above seasonal, getting as high as 13 degrees Celsius on Wednesday  (Feb. 15).

Most of Sunday (Feb. 12) will be in the low 2 C but with clear skies and sunshine, before dipping to -3 C overnight.

As we roll into Monday, temperatures will gradually rise to a high of 6 C with a mix of flurries and rain, which will be the last of gloomy weather for this week.

There will be a mix of sun and clouds with winds reaching up to 37 km/h, starting from Tuesday (Feb.14) until the weekend.

Although high temperatures in the teens are more typically experienced in April, it looks like this February will feature extreme warmth compared to previous years.

You might as well enjoy the good weather while it lasts, as temperatures are set to fall the following week with snow and rain in the forecast.
