Just past 8:15 am this morning (July 15), a watermain break on Thorold Stone Road in Niagara Falls has rendered the street off-limits for at least eight to 10 hours.

The east and westbound lanes of Thorold Stone Road is shut down between Carroll Avenue and Sinnicks Avenue.

The City said only emergency vehicle access will be allowed.

They added in a release that all houses in this area will lose their water for the duration.

Once the water is restored, residents are being warned it “may be slightly discolored and off tasting after the interruption. This will disappear shortly after resuming use of the water. Running your cold water tap only will help resolve the problem.”

For further details, residents can contact the Niagara Falls Service Centre at 905-356-1355.
