Watermain break on Drummond snarls traffic in Niagara Falls

A watermain break on Drummond Road in Niagara Falls is expected to have portions of the street shut down until the early evening today (August 23).
The city said earlier that “due to the extensive restoration work that must be undertaken to repair the watermain, the right hand northbound lane will be closed on Drummond Road.”
Residents in the area can expect “water interruptions between Summer and North.
This road closure and water interruption has an expected duration of approximately eight to 10 hours.”
The city also warned that residents in the immediate area may find their water “slightly discolored and off tasting after the interruption. This will disappear shortly after resuming use of the water. Running your cold water tap only, will help resolve the problem.”
