Expect traffic to be interrupted on Jepson Street in Niagara Falls today (October 5) after a watermain break.

The city’s public works department says the broken watermain will need “extensive restoration work” and that the area on Jepson between 6th Avenue and Valley Way will be closed for the next six to eight hours.

As well, expect water service interruptions in the same area plus Slater Avenue between Jepson Street and McRae Street.

Public Works warned that “the water may be slightly discolored and off tasting after the interruption. This will disappear shortly after resuming use of the water. Running your cold water tap only will help resolve the problem.”
