water main break flood mississauga

A water main break is creating havoc near an intersection in a Mississauga neighbourhood late Tuesday afternoon.

The break, which occurred shortly before 5 p.m., has flooded a part of Tacc Drive, completely covering the street and the front yard of homes in the area.

Mississauga Fire and Region of Peel emergency crews are on the scene and have taped off the area of the street leading into the neighbourhood to local traffic as they work to fix the water main leak and clear the area of water.

The water main break was clearly visible as water bubbled upwards almost like a fountain and out onto one of the home’s front driveways and onto the street.

Local residents could only watch helplessly as the water flowed onto their front yards.

Mississauga Fire says multiple homes have been affected.

Drivers are asked to steer clear of the area until the water main break can be brought under control and the overflowing water on the street cleared.

No time estimate for the cleanup has been provided.
