Warrant out for suspect in fatal Hamilton Mountain hit-and-run

Police have identified a Hamilton man as they suspect in a fatal hit-and-run collision two weeks ago.
In a statement, Hamilton Police Services says detectives believe that 37-year-old Omar Bataineh was operating the suspect vehicle at the time of the collision early on April 8. His current whereabouts are unknown and an arrest warrant has been issued. Bataineh is wanted for failure to remain causing death under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on April 8, HPS officers responded to Upper Wentworth Street for a pedestrian struck on the roadway. Police learned that a 42-year-old Glen Clark was struck by a vehicle travelling south in the southbound lanes. The involved vehicle did not remain at the scene and Clark died a short time after he was struck.
Clark was the ninth person to die so far this year in a traffic collision in Hamilton. Eight of the deceased are pedestrians.

Omar BATAINEH 37-years-of-age is currently wanted for Fail to Remain Causing Death under the Criminal Code of Canada.
