First they drove erratic, then they dove into the attic.

Provincial police officers were tickled pink to share a story about the collar of a suspected erratic driver in the Welland area recently. According to a Twitter post from the Ontario Provincial Police highway safety division, witnesses helped the Niagara OPP track down a suspect who was wanted on several charges after officers had tried to stop them on Highway 406, near Woodland Road. Eventually, the driver “was located hiding buried in insulation in the attic” of a home.

The fibres in building insulation can pierce the outer layer of skin, causing pain and sometimes a rash. Soreness in the nose and throat, along with stomach irritation, can result from inhaling the fibres.

The OPP said the driver was facing a “slew” of charges that include dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.
