A man convicted of attempted murder and now being sought by police on a Canada-wide warrant is known to frequent Hamilton and Toronto, members of a provincial law enforcement team say.

The province’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad, which among other tasks tracks down parolees who’ve escaped custody, is asking for the public’s help in finding Robert Walter Andrews, 55, who breached his long-term supervision order, according to an OPP press release.

Andrews is serving an eight-year, long-term supervision order for convictions of attempted murder, criminal harassment and fail to comply with a probation order.

He’s described as a Caucasian man, six feet tall, 182 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. He wears corrective lenses.

Anyone who has seen this offender or has information regarding his whereabouts should contact the ROPE Squad at 416-808-5900 or 1-866-870-7673, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or call 911.
