Producers of a popular Canadian game show are searching Mississauga, Brampton, the GTA and the entire country for energetic families to feud it out on national TV.

“We are currently on the hunt for Canada’s most dynamic and energetic families to feud on CBC’s hilarious game show, Family Feud Canada, for a chance to win up to $30,000,” Family Feud Canada associate producer Nicole Constantine said in an email to insauga.com.

The show’s third season recently concluded, and the search is on for some 70 or so families from coast to coast to compete in the fourth season, which will tape in the coming months in Toronto and air starting in the fall.

Constantine said it’s important to the show that as many areas and communities as possible across Canada are represented.

The Varughese family of Mississauga appeared on Family Feud Canada in 2020.

Hosted by comedian and actor Gerry Dee, Family Feud Canada  features families fighting it out to find the top answers to survey questions for a chance to win $10,000 at the end of the show.

The families that appear on the show are selected from thousands of applications from across the country and then hundreds of auditions.

A number of Mississauga families have appeared on shows in each of the three seasons to date.

On Feb. 3, 2020, the Varughese family of Mississauga appeared on the show. They’re a family of first-generation South Asian-Canadians who have been watching the original Family Feud since the 1970s.

Family Feud Canada airs Monday to Thursday nights on CBC from September through April. It’s taped in front of a studio audience at CBC in Toronto.

First introduced in the U.S. in 1976, the much-loved game show has been picked up in 72 international markets to date including the United Kingdom, Australia, France, India and Indonesia.
