Wanted 22-year-old man charged with firearm and drug related offences in Mississauga

Peel Regional Police have charged a 22-year-old man from Nova Scotia with drug and firearm-related offences in Mississauga early this morning.

On Sunday, Mar. 26, 2023, at approximately 2:15 a.m., police were running stunt driving enforcements near Derry Rd/ Cattrick St in Malton.

Police stopped a vehicle and after further investigations, it was revealed that the driver was wanted by Toronto Police, and he was arrested on the strength of a warrant.

Officers also located and seized a loaded Glock handgun with a 26-round magazine and a quantity of drugs.

The 22-year-old man is identified as Kendell Saunders and he has been charged with several offences including racing in a motor vehicle, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.

Since the incident Saunders was held for a bail hearing and has appeared at a Court of Justice in Brampton.
