If you’re happy to have Mississauga’s libraries back (who isn’t?), you might be happy to know that October should be a big month for our city’s institutions of research and learning.

October is Canadian Library Month and Oct. 16-22 is Ontario Public Library Week. October is also the 25th anniversary of the Mississauga Central Library.

So, to mark the event-filled month, the Mississauga Library System is hosting a bunch of events that might interest you.

“Commemorating these important dates raises awareness about the importance of libraries in the community,” said Rose Vespa, Director, Mississauga Library Services. “For residents, visitors and newcomers, our libraries are community hubs that provide universal access to information, programs, activities and services. Our Libraries offer spaces that foster a sense of belonging while encouraging all citizens to learn, create and discover.”

If you’re into cosplaying, touring local institutions and spending time with your family (a lot of the events are ideal for children), you’re in luck.

So, what’s on tap for this month?
