The Town of Milton’s “Walk of Fame” induction ceremony will be taking place later this month.

Created in 2007 as the Town’s 150th Anniversary Legacy project, Milton’s Walk of Fame recognizes the achievements of local residents along with their success.

The Walk of Fame Program is administered by the Milton Historical Society which makes nominee recommendations to Milton Council for approval based on specific criteria.

The Walk of Fame highlights local athletes, sports, actors, writers, musicians, entrepreneurs, and government, health and science figures. Each inductee is recognized in the glass corridor that links the historic Town Hall.

The 2023 inductees are International Lumber Merchant Henry Cargill (1836-1903) (Posthumous), Musicians Nick Greaves and Adrian Jewett, Computer Scientist Brian Kernighan, Composer and Pianist Ryan Lenssen and Sheep Breeder Joseph Willmott (1897-1987) (Posthumous).

“Through our continued partnership with the Milton Historical Society, it is a pleasure to honour and congratulate this latest group of Miltonians to be inducted into Milton’s Walk of Fame,” said Mayor Gord Krantz.

The ceremony, hosted by the Town of Milton and the Milton Historical Society, is set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Milton Town Hall, located at 150 Mary St.

Those who wish to attend the event can reach out to the Town of Milton by email or call (905) 878-7252 ex 2102.
