The Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Association (GHVA) recently presented Georgetown Hospital with a cheque for $60,000 at their virtual annual general meeting.

The GHVA is a registered charity whose mission is to provide care, comfort and service to the patients, visitors, family and staff of Georgetown Hospital as well as raise funds for the betterment of the hospital.

It was originally formed in 1958 and then re-established in 2006.

“Congratulations to the GHVA on yet another successful year. In addition to their invaluable hours of service, the Volunteer Association continues to find creative ways to raise funds through revenue generated from the gift shop, 50/50 draws and other community events,” said Janet Skupsky, Interim Chief Operating Officer at Georgetown Hospital.

“This year’s cheque for $60,000 demonstrates the unwavering commitment and generosity of all of our volunteers. Their dedicated service to the hospital truly enriches the patient experience.”
