The City of Hamilton and local post-secondary institutions are hosting a virtual networking event this week to connect job seekers with local and nearby employers.

The Connect to Careers Job Fair will feature presentations and webinars about navigating the world of work during a particularly tumultuous time, workplace diversity and inclusion, as well as prep for interviews and advice on how to write impressive applications.

McMaster University, Mohawk College, Redeemer University, City of Hamilton and Workforce Planning Hamilton have partnered to bring this event to job seekers and those looking to advance their career.

The event is Wednesday, March 3 and it’s free and open to anyone looking to drop in anytime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m

Job seekers will have the opportunity to speak virtually with potential employers who will have ‘booths’ on the virtual platform.

Some of the local employers who are currently looking to hire include Interval House, Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, Stelco, McMaster and Mohawk, among dozens of others that can be found listed here.

The fair is expected to feature opportunities for summer employment, part-time and full-time positions as well as internships and co-ops.

“At Connect to Careers, you’ll make connections with potential employers and explore your options,” the event’s website said.

“Set yourself apart from other job seekers by sharing your resume and experience through one-on-one chats in a comfortable virtual environment.”
