If you love Japanese culture or you want to learn more about it, you’re invited to (virtually) check out one of Mississauga’s best-known festivals, happening today (August 28).

The annual Japan Fest (also known as Japan Festival Canada) will be taking place virtually this evening at 7:00 p.m., making this the second year in a row the event has opted to go online.

The MCs for the event are Yurika Watanabe Hinkle and Insauga’s own Khaled Iwamura.

This year, Japan Fest’s performers will play music, show off unique make-up techniques, teach you how to cook Japanese cuisine, and generally delve into the culture and landmarks of Japan.

There’s also a contest to win a trip for two and enjoy a three night stay at the renowned Imperial Hotel in Japan.

“Despite the circumstances, we are hopeful and are continuing to explore more ideas to uplift your spirits through Japanese food, culture, and technologies,” says the festival organizers.

To participate in the event tonight, be sure to visit Japan Fest’s website at 7:00 p.m.
