Viral pizza joint opening new restaurant location in Toronto

A restaurant that’s gone viral for their unique style of pizza is now opening a brand new location in Toronto.

Slowhand Pizza describes their food as “A bit of Italy, a bit of Detroit, a bit of San Francisco – but all Toronto.” They make sourdough pizza in a rectangular shape, kind of like Detroit-style pizza.

The restaurant has taken to social media to post updates about the new location they’re opening in Toronto, which have gotten hundreds of likes on Instagram.

“Hands down best Detroit style pizza in the city. Sourdough crust, come on… Forgetta bout it,” one person commented on an Instagram post showing a map zooming in on the restaurant’s new west end location.

“Oh my god!!!!! I can just walk and get my fav pizza in Toronto soon!!!” someone else commented.

Now, Slowhand Pizza has posted an update letting people know that they’ll be opening a new location all the way across town from their original spot in the east end, at King and Portland, which has gotten over 500 likes and over 50 comments on Instagram from excited fans.

“This is a game changer. No more hour plus transit trips to the east end!!!!” one person commented on the Instagram post.

“Absolutely delishhhhh,” another person wrote in a comment. “A pandemic hobby turned into an incredible dough experience.”

“Literally the BEST pizza in the city,” someone wrote. Another person commented, “Welcome to the west end, see you soon!”

“SO happy for you!! Congratulations!!!” someone else commented. “Having your mouth-watering pizza is going to be much more attainable. Yay!!!!”

One person put it simply: “You’re about to explode. Congrats!”

Slowhand Pizza at 8 Waterloo Terrace should be opening around April.
