Two Mississauga men charged in Toronto home invasion and carjacking.

Two Mississauga men are facing a rash of robbery, weapons and assault charges after a violent overnight home invasion and car theft in Toronto last week.

Investigators with Toronto Police and several other law enforcement agencies made the arrests on Tuesday in connection with the home invasion last Thursday at about 2:30 a.m. in the Steeles Avenue East/Staines Road area.

Police say a pair of culprits “forcibly entered the victim’s home” before allegedly pointing a gun at him and then assaulting him.

The men then stole the victim’s car and other valuables before fleeing the scene, police said.

The man was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Toronto Police tactical officers, York Regional Police holdup squad officers and members of the Provincial Carjacking Joint Task Force executed two search warrants on Tuesday in relation to the investigation.

Two men were subsequently arrested and charged.

Komal Ramlochan, 20, and Christopher Lloyd, 21, both of Mississauga, are each charged with:

  • robbery while armed with a firearm
  • conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
  • disguise with intent
  • three counts of point firearm
  • assault with a weapon
  • assault causing bodily harm
  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • possession firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order

They’re scheduled to appear in Toronto court on Wednesday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7350 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477.

The Provincial Carjacking Joint Task Force was created earlier this fall in response to the rising number of violent incidents related to auto crimes across the GTA. It’s comprised of officers from various forces across Ontario, including Peel Regional Police, and is jointly led by Toronto Police and OPP.
