Previously a Senior Research Scientist with the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre (VRIC) in Lincoln, Brian Lynch has now been promoted to the new Director of Horticultural Technology Systems.

Lynch, who joined VRIC in 2018, has previously led a team of engineers and technicians on projects tackling research and development problems in horticultural automation and robotics.

He has also been instrumental in project technical developments in machine learning, computer vision, mobile robotics, manipulators and mechatronics.

“It is my sincere pleasure to announce Brian’s promotion to Director, Horticultural Technology Systems,” says Darby McGrath, PhD, Vice President, Research and Development at Vineland.

“Since his start at Vineland, Brian has shown a strong understanding of horticulture, Vineland’s value proposition and a dedication and passion for solutions in the industry and Vineland as an organization.”

McGrath herself received national attention in May when she was named one of six Influential Women in Canadian Agriculture (IWCA), a recognition of women who are driving the future of agriculture in Canada.
