Here is where you can find one of the most unique chicken sandwiches, located on the border of Mississauga and Oakville.
The Chicken Cartel operates out of the Chippy’s Fresh Cut Fries trailer in Oakville, but don’t let the small space fool you; this food is packed with flavour. Chef Donovan Gomes, also known as “BOSSMAN,” is a Mississauga chef with over 20 years of culinary experience at some of the most renowned restaurants. The restaurant started as a pop-up at a banquet hall in Mississauga and has recently taken over the trailer in Oakville for takeout only.
I have had this spot on my list ever since I found out about it (especially because it is Halal and I can’t resist chicken sandwiches). After finally being able to try it, I can confidently say I’ll be back for more. Not only was the food a major hit and unlike anything I have ever tasted before, the service and hospitality were also top-notch.
The takeout joint often releases limited-edition menu items, like the SMOKiE, which is dunked in a jerk chimichurri, or the HiTMAN, which is topped with broccoli and hot honey. Other classic menu items include the UPPERCUT, a fried chicken sandwich dunked in chili oil, and topped with namasu salad.
The Chicken Cartel is open for takeout only from Tuesdays-Sundays and is located at 2524 Royal Windsor Dr, Oakville, ON L5J 1K7.
