Border MX Mexican Grill and Cantina in Streetsville prides itself on serving authentic Mexican cuisine prepared by Chef Viri Rico, who follows in her mother’s and grandmother’s footsteps and their passion for cooking.

The menu includes a variety of both traditional and modern Mexican food made from scratch, including fajitas, tamales, flautas, and pork carnitas, which you can wash down with a drink from Border MX’s tequila bar or cocktail menu.

Some of their must-try dishes include their Evil Shrimp (cooked in creamy cheesy chipotle sauce with rice and homemade tortilla chips), Volcán (steak, chicken, chorizo, peppers, onions, and corn on the cob served in a traditional molcajete rock) and Beef Tongue Tacos (tender beef tongue with avocado sauce and onion cilantro).

Chef Rico says her mission is to bring authentic Mexican cuisine to the table while also providing an inviting experience with a personal touch, something she finds is lacking in today’s fast paced restaurants.

While the restaurant has been open for a few years now, there are a couple of new exciting changes: The restaurant is now open on Mondays, and customers can dine outside on the comfortable patio.

Border MX provides catering for events and is also available for takeout or delivery via Uber Eats.
