A film series exploring Brampton’s history is now available to view online.
Created in 1994 for the local Rogers Cable 10 television station and recently uploaded to YouTube by the Region of Peel Archives, the six-part series delves into different aspects of the city’s past and goes into detail on several topics.
Hosted by Michael Seaman of the Brampton Heritage Board, the videos indicate they were produced with funding help from the Rotary Clubs of Brampton and include interviews with local residents and historians of the day, along with video footage of historical sites filmed in 1994 and dozens of photographs that have been preserved to provide reminders of the past.
A message posted online by the Region of Peel Archives announcing the availability of the series acknowledges the dated feel of the 1994 films but accurately points out that it is “a solid series” that worth watching by history buffs or those who just want to learn about the history of Brampton.
Each episode is about 30 minutes in length.
