Police are searching for a firebug after a string of arsons and two firefighters were injured in a blaze at a home under construction in Brampton.

The blazes were all set between July 6 and July 24 according to Peel Regional Police, with investigators saying multiple under-construction homes were intentionally set on fire.

All residences involved in the fires saw extensive damage. And while all the homes were unoccupied and under construction when the fires were set, two Brampton Fire and Emergency Services firefighters sustained non-life threatening injuries battling the fires on July 10.

Surveillance video captured images of the arson suspect and shows someone running from a home as the building starts to go up in flames.

The suspect wore a black hooded jacket, pants, gloves and white shoes during the incident and was also seen carrying a blue bag. Police have also identified a vehicle of interest, asking residents to be on the lookout for a silver or grey newer model four-door Jeep Wrangler with a steel-top roof.
