Police have released a video appearing to show the moment suspects forced their way into a residence during a nighttime home invasion in Ontario.

York Regional Police said officers responded to the incident in the area of Bayview Avenue and Ambler Lane in Richmond Hill at around 3:30 a.m. on Monday.

That’s just south of Elgin Mills Road East.

“Four suspects forced their way into the residence, confronted the home owner and demanded money,” police said.

“At least one suspect was armed with a firearm.”

The video released by police appears to show one suspect kicking a door, before a second individual does the same and the door opens. The group of four then appear to go inside.

The suspects fled in a dark-coloured sedan that was driven by a fifth suspect who remained in the vehicle, police said.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
